Short bio

I am an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Marquette University. My current research interests are in the areas of design methods for embedded systems, chip multiprocessors and datacenters, electronic design automation of VLSI and FPGA circuits, FPGAs, and parallel computing. I received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 2004 and the M.Sc. (signal processing) and B.S. (microelectronics) degrees from the Technical University "Gh. Asachi" of Iasi, Romania. Prior to joining Marquette University, from 2012 to 2013, I was an assistant professor in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, The State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and from 2008 to 2012, I was an assistant professor in the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, North Dakota State University (NDSU). Previously, from 2004 to 2008, I worked for Magma Design Automation, San Jose CA, where I received the outstanding technical contribution award in 2007. During the Summer of 2001, I worked on analog circuit synthesis and layout at NeoLinear Inc., Pittsburgh PA. During 1996-1997, I was an Erasmus graduate student at the University of Patras, Greece. I am a senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM, Eta Kappa Nu, and Sigma Xi.
